About Phonely
There are billions of calls made every day which will soon be handled by AI. Today 70% of business customer support calls are outsourced to call centers and contact centers. These call centers are looking for a solution that they can build simulate, and deploy voice agents all in one platform. We are building this.
Through YC we grew at 22% week over week and went through demo day with the some of the top revenue in the batch. We already work with the largest contact centers in the world and are looking for people that want to build the future of AI phone support together.
About the role
At some point in the future, every business will answer their phone with voice AI. We are building the platform that makes it possible.
Phonely builds conversational voice AI agents for high volume phone workflows. Our customers use us to qualify leads, book appointments, route calls, and resolve real customer conversations in production. We are growing fast and just getting started.
**About the Role
**
This is our first product hire. You will be helping drive the direction of Phonely. Our customers are pretty good at telling us what hurts right now, and much less so at telling us what they are going to need in six months to a year from now. That's where you'll come in. You will spend a lot of your time sitting between engineering and customer success, pulling everything together into a roadmap the team believes in, and then staying with it until it's shipped and people are actually using it.
We think of this as a revenue generating role. What you choose to build determines which deals we can win and which customers grow with us, and you will be measured on that alongside the rest of the go-to-market team.
What You'll Do
-
Own the voice AI product end to end, from the first customer conversation through launch, adoption, and iteration
-
Talk to customers constantly. Sit on calls, read transcripts, dig through tickets and feature requests, and use that evidence to decide what deserves to get built
-
Translate what customer success and sales are hearing into a roadmap with clear priorities and tradeoffs
-
Work shoulder to shoulder with engineering and design through the whole build
-
Define what success looks like before you ship and then go check whether you were right
-
Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success on positioning, launches, and enablement so the thing you built actually gets used
-
Build the product function itself: how we prioritize, how we document, how we run launches, and how we measure what worked
-
Argue with us. You will be working alongside people who have strong opinions of their own, so bring one, back it with evidence, change your mind when someone has a better one, and then commit
-
Set the vision for where the product goes over the next year and make the case for it
What You'll Bring
-
At least three years in product management, including something you took from a vague idea all the way to a product people love
-
Experience owning a real business outcome and comfort being measured on it
-
Exceptional organization and follow-through
-
Excellent writing and communication. You are the connective tissue between engineers, customer success, sales, and the founders, and most of that job is making complicated things clear to people who are not in the weeds with you
-
Enough technical fluency that you can talk with engineers about APIs, latency, and model behavior
Bonus Points
-
You have shipped AI or LLM-based products into production
-
You have worked closely with a customer success or support team before
-
You know the world of call centers, contact centers, or high volume phone operations
-
You have been the first PM somewhere and have opinions about what you would do differently the second time

Technology
To achieve human-level performance with voice AI agents, we need 99.9% reliability across all verticals. Building a high-performing Voice AI solution requires a combination of key elements:
- Voice AI Infrastructure: Develop robust systems that can handle real-time conversations seamlessly.
- API Integrations: Connect with relevant software to ensure smooth interactions.
- LLM Testing, Simulation, and Evaluation: Validate models under various conditions to ensure accuracy.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously track metrics to optimize system performance.
- Countless Other Tasks: From scaling infrastructure to managing edge cases, achieving this level of reliability is no small feat.
We’ve brought all of these elements together in one place so enterprises can integrate reliable and accurate voice AI into their offerings in minutes, not months.
