Member of technical staff – Paris

Huscarl solves the inefficiencies of the $1T USD corporate insurance market through technology. We’re backed by Y Combinator and operate in the US and Europe.

Most companies are overinsured in some areas and underinsured in others, leading to bad protection and use of their money. Our approach helps large companies ($50M+ turnover) save -30% premiums for improved coverage and manage their own risks like an insurance company would.

As an AI-native firm, we’re assembling a small team of elite individuals empowered with extreme AI leverage.

The role

Working directly with the founders, you will improve client-facing and internal software with full ownership: frontend, backend, infrastructure. You will work with Claude Code and Codex.

Specifically, you will:

• Maintain and improve client-facing software – knowledge management, data extraction, embedded agents, connectors with 3rd party software, continuous improvement of UX/UI based on feedback, self-improving loops

• Build AI agents that run the business – working with growth staff, automate business workflows toward full automation

• High agency and ownership mentality

• Tasteful and able to judge independently from consensus or AI slop

• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript

• Ability to work across the stack

• Located in Paris, fluency in French and English required

• 2 – 5 years shipping software in venture-backed tech companies

• Demonstrated track-record building with AI tools and managing multiple coding sessions

• Familiarity with data science and/or statistics

We aim for mass production of custom actuarial models thanks to a combination of advanced actuarial science and genAI frontier workflows.
