About Asendia AI
Asendia AI is building the AI operating system for staffing agencies. Staffing is a $500B+ industry still running on manual phone screens, gut-feel candidate scoring, and recruiters drowning in repetitive calls. We're replacing that entire workflow with voice AI agents that screen, verify, and score candidates 24/7, then feed structured data directly back into the agency's ATS. Our AI agent "Sarah" conducts live phone interviews, detects fraud, evaluates candidate fit, and hands recruiters a scored shortlist instead of a pile of resumes. We're already live with staffing agencies across the US and Europe, running thousands of automated screens across healthcare, IT, and blue-collar verticals. What makes us different: We don't sell a chatbot. We sell a full agentic recruitment pipeline. Where we are: YC P25. Small team, real revenue, real customers, scaling fast, and building in San Francisco. What it's like here: We ship fast, talk to customers constantly, and make decisions in hours, not weeks. We exhibit at TechServe Alliance, Staffing World, Executive Forum, and Collaboration X. We're not building in a vacuum; we're in the field with our customers, shaping how this industry adopts AI.
About the role
Asendia AI is an AI-powered recruiting platform that helps staffing firms find, engage, and place candidates more efficiently. We’re one of the fastest-growing startups in our YC batch and recently raised an oversubscribed seed round backed by leading investors.
We’re growing quickly and looking for a Staffing Intern to work closely with our founders and help us hire exceptional people across engineering, sales, marketing, and other roles.
This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how recruiting works inside a fast-growing AI startup while taking real ownership of the hiring process.
Responsibilities
- Source and identify strong candidates for open roles
- Review applications and résumés and help build candidate shortlists
- Reach out to candidates through LinkedIn, email, and other channels
- Conduct initial candidate screening and help evaluate fit
- Coordinate interviews between candidates, founders, and team members
- Keep our recruiting pipeline and candidate information organized and up to date
- Follow up with candidates throughout the interview process
- Research new sourcing channels, communities, and recruiting strategies
- Help improve our job descriptions, outreach messages, and hiring processes
- Support the founders with day-to-day recruiting and hiring priorities
What We’re Looking For
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable reaching out to and speaking with candidates
- Proactive and able to take ownership without constant direction
- Interest in recruiting, staffing, AI, and startups
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Previous recruiting, sourcing, HR, or staffing experience is a plus, but not required
Why Join
You’ll work directly with Asendia AI’s founders and get hands-on exposure to startup recruiting from sourcing through hiring. You’ll learn how to identify great candidates, run recruiting processes, and help build the early team of a fast-growing AI company.
This is not an observational internship, you’ll have real responsibility and directly contribute to growing the Asendia team.
To apply, submit your résumé and a short statement explaining why you’d like to join Asendia AI.
