Founding Engineer

Superset is building self-improving software. It starts with giving engineers the best tools that adapt to their needs over time. Today, tens of thousands of engineers run Superset as their primary IDE, at companies like Wix, DoorDash, and Netflix.

We're building a flat and talent-dense team, and we're looking for people who have crazy ideas and are crazy enough to ship them. If you want to build a product you love to use, come build it with us.

We are looking for a founding engineer who will own a large chunk of the product suite from idea to production. This role is perfect for someone who works well autonomously, ship quickly, and has strong opinions.

• Own large product features end to end. You’ll likely ship a feature to production in your first few days.
• Build in any of our product surfaces: agent, cloud, terminal, mobile, factory. You’ll have to get down to the pty, stream transport level up to building UI.
• Set up systems and processes to help the team ship faster.

• You have been a founder, or early employee at a startup.
• You have shipped complex agentic products or infrastructure
• You use coding agents daily and have strong opinions about the future of building with agents.
• You can work in person in SF five days a week

We're building the tech that empowers engineers to orchestrate 100+ agents in parallel.

The current tech stack spans across building agent harnesses, IDE, terminal, cloud, real-time stream transport, and lower level user device management. Our codebase is mostly TypeScript and open-source so your work will be on display to the public.

• 15-minute call with Kiet (co-founder & CEO). Phone screen on culture and skill fit. Include a link to something you built recently (repo, PR, or demo) when you apply.
• 1-hour technical interview with Satya (co-founder & CTO). React-centric technical interview.
• 1-hour technical interview with Avi (co-founder & CPO). Hands-on TypeScript problem solving interview.
• 1-hour system design interview with Kiet. White-board design of a complex system.
• In-person week with the team in San Francisco. Pairing, working sessions, and a presentation of your week, then a decision and offer before you leave.

We book the next round within 24 hours of the previous one, and we tell you the outcome within 48 hours of each step. Our last hire went from first call to signed offer in about 3 weeks including overseas traveling.
