Founding Engineer

Kuli is the AI coworker for social media and influencer marketing teams at the most iconic consumer brands.

Large brands pay agencies tens of millions of euros every year to run marketing campaigns manually: finding creators, watching content one video at a time, managing outreach, and preparing reports.

Kuli is building the alternative. We watch and understand millions of social videos, learn each brand's context, and have AI execute campaigns end to end for them. This is a problem on which humans are being paid tens of billions every year to solve. And we’re teaching an AI to do it 10X better.

We are hiring a Founding Engineer to increase our engineering velocity and own the architecture of our agent orchestration layer.

You will work directly with the founders, founding engineers, and customers. You will speak with users every week and own launches from the initial problem through production.

• Agent state, memory, context, tool use, planning, and human-in-the-loop flows.
• Tool reliability, evaluation, observability, latency, and cost.
• You will own the ingestion and indexing of 10M+ social videos per month into our vector store, optimizing for sub-second retrieval.
• Systems that apply Kuli's video intelligence within each customer's brand context.
• Internal tooling and automation that increase the output of a small team.

• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Strong backend fundamentals and experience owning production systems.
• Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks.
• Evidence of shipping software used by real people.
• Comfortable moving quickly without saying sorry
• Comfortable speaking with customers and owning launches.
• Has built things from the ground up, independently or as an early employee.

Our stack includes Python, FastAPI, LangGraph, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Redis, Azure, TypeScript, and React. We use models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

We work primarily in person in Paris, with flexible arrangements when needed. English is our working language. Three-quarters of the team are YC founders.

Kuli combines large-scale social video ingestion with an agentic product used by enterprise marketing teams.

We process multimodal content from social platforms, extract structured insights, and make them available to agents that operate in each customer's brand context. The hard problems include high-volume ingestion, multimodal analysis, agent orchestration and state, context engineering, tool reliability, evaluation, latency, and cost.

1. Interview with CEO. We discuss what you have built, what you personally owned, how you work through difficult problems, and why you want to join Kuli.

2. One-day paid work trial in our office. You work directly with the founding engineers on a real Kuli problem. We support you with any tool you need. We evaluate how quickly you understand the system, scope an ambiguous problem, make technical and product decisions, communicate during the work, and ship.

3. Final interview with both cofounders. We review the work trial, discuss any disagreements or open questions, and align on the role, pace, compensation, and mutual expectations.
